    The pictures of the WoW costumes over at her LJ certainly speak volumes. And the Lisa t-shirt. Excellent blaming indeed.

    As well as the obvious aggravating differences, I find it really interesting how the design aspects of these boxes reflect so much of our attitudes to kids and gender – the way the “boys” box has ‘Go!’ in a bright fiery bubble and the “girls” toy has ‘pretty!’ with a flower in the exclamation mark – boys do stuff, girls are for looking at. This kind of division is everywhere, though usually more subtle.

    The original post is hilarious though :)

    Personally, I love how they don’t even pick the right age for the girl on the cover/make the trolley the right height, so she has to bend down at an awkward angle.

    “Hey parents! Give your pretty little daughters a head start on all the back-breaking work women are expected to do!”
