I’m a bit afeared of what the health group might come up with regarding the Obesity! Crisis! actually. Dr Michael Good is an immunology specialist but at least they didn’t pick someone like Dr Paul Zimmett (fat-hating media whore from Monash) who, despite supposedly being a specialist expert in diabetes, still puts it about that being fat directly causes type 2 diabetes and was behind the idea to get Weight Watchers put on Medicare. Might want to check in with some of your other colleagues on that, mate.

I really, really hope that at least one person with half a clue about say, Health at Every Size, or some cynicism about the Fat is Disgusting and Will Kill Us All rubbish, will be in attendance and willing to speak up about it.

For the rest of the 20,699,000 people in Oz not invited to the Summit, the online community created a wiki called Oz Ideas to be our forum to list and vote on the best ideas to improve Australia. It’s free and can be anonymous. We just think everyday people probably have just as good ideas for this country than the experts, so the site acts as a national online brainstorming session. It’s at http://ozideas.wetpaint.com

    See what you think.

    Cheers,
    Jim
