Can’t resist

Everybody’s been posting versions of this today (USA time), but I just had to join in. As a listserv friend posted, Happy Mission Accomplished Day!

The latest White House press statement on the banner?

“President Bush is well aware that the banner should have been much more specific and said ‘mission accomplished’ for these sailors who are on this ship on their mission,” White House press secretary Dana Perino said.

Stephan has improved the image to better reflect what the President apparently meant for the banner to say. As Kim says, not so pithy.

I’m sure that John “maybe 100 years” McCain is totally on board with the latest spin.
