If Obama wins, he may be right: she will be the best thing that could have happened to America.

Not to his campaign, of course, but you can’t have everything.

The thing that really gets me about this video is that you can tell that McCain really does not believe what he’s saying. It’s the same expression and tone of voice he had when he claimed that Palin had National Security credentials because she supposedly knows some things about energy.

I have a really strong feeling that McCain just wants the next couple of weeks to be over already, so he can fade away into the background where he belongs.

He still strikes me as utterly contemptuous of his rival, as if he can’t believe that the nation is making him go through the motions of treating Obama as a serious contender instead of just anointing McCain months ago and having a party from then until January.

Nice that they’re narrowing their message now: Palin’s still a feminist, apparently, being a woman who keeps the men on track, but she’s not a nasty liberal feminist, so that’s OK, but all us liberal feminists should still totally vote for her (even those of us in far off lands with no US voting rights) because it will somehow make us less nasty. I think.

    Has anyone told Miranda Devine?

M-Hs last blog post..Religion Report on the ABC

I find it amusing that he clearly has no idea what the phrase ‘liberal feminist’ denotes to people who know anything about feminism.

Something like that, I think too.

Well put. Though I don’t think it’s just about Obama; I think it’s because he’s a blue-blood with a rich family, and damn it that was enough to get Bush elected, and now he WANTS HIS TURN! WAAAAH!

He kinda reminds me as Hayden Christiansen’s regrettably unforgettable performance as Anankin Skywalker.

And Camille Paglia, who reckoned Palin was a real proper moose-shooting feminist, not like these whiny urban educated nabobs of negativism!!

And ditto Peggy Noonan, who enthused that Palin was “… a feminist not in the Yale Gender Studies sense but the How Do I Reload This Thang way.” Which is gobsmackingly stupid, considering that if Palin was actually uttering these words, it would mean she didn’t actually know how to load a gun and needed someone (possibly male) to show her. Pioneer wonder woman?…Mixed messages, what?

    Beppie and Lauredhel,

I really don’t think that’s the case. I really think he still believes he’ll win this thing. And honestly, I’ll believe that Obama will win when it happens. I think he will, I think he should, I think he’ll get more votes, but I need to hear see McCain concede before I’ll feel comfortable.

Damn this election. It’s making me a conspiricist, lol.
