Just a reminder for those who may have missed the the original post and the banner in the sidebar– a bunch of us Sydney Hoydenizens are heading to the Courthouse Hotel in Newtown this Sunday (December 7th) at 12 noon, having a bite to eat and getting squiffy! I’ve booked us a table in the beer garden, so look for us there. I have some vaguely formed plans to make a sign to put up on the table (because taking the inflatable dalek is just way too impractical), but if you have trouble finding us, it’s booked under the name “Beppie”.
If you’re planning on attending, and haven’t already told me so, then please leave a comment here, or RSVP over at facebook.

I too mourn the lack of inflatable daleks, but am cheered at the prospect of meeting faces to match with the names.
I’ve just made this post sticky, so that it will stay at the top of the blog until the drinks actually happen.
I have a big night the night before, and then have to be at work at 6PM… but if I’m conscious and functional early enough, I’ll pop along for a drink and a snack. :)

@FP: Jagermeister is a German “digestive” which tastes like insanely alcoholic cough syrup. I LOVE IT SO MUCH.
It has become apparent that if I try to come for drinks tomorrow I’m going to spend the rest of the week in a state of total panic over the fact that my house is SO NOT READY to have about 70 people turn up for a Christmas party on the 13th. Dammit. I’m going to have to have an attack of the sensibles and stay home doing cleaning, shopping and general party prep.
I was really looking forward to meeting everyone, ah well, maybe next time.

Woohoo! I am here posting from my mobile phone. And I did indeed remember to bring a sign! With a bonus dalek picture!
I was so sorry I couldn’t come in the end. Having just moved into a newly renovated house than having had to spend the week in Melbourne for work , we agreed that we would send the weekend getting the house organised and cleaned of builders mess. But I would love to have sat in the sun with you all and toasted hoyden-ness. I raise my tea and choccie biccie in my clean house in the direction of Newtown.
*sigh* I’m sorry I couldn’t come, either. A minor family crisis interrupted – don’t worry, we’re okay. I would like to come the next time around. :) I hope you had fun!

I just got home after a quick detour to the supermarket for essential dinner supplies. It was a fine time, with about a dozen hoydenish types chatting merrily away. I didn’t get to chat to everyone as much as I would have liked to, but we’ll be doing it again around February, so I’ll do better next time. It was great to see a few lurkers turn up.
I’m also doing an Xmas grogblog for Larvatus Prodeo next Sunday a bit later in the arvo, so anyone who missed this time around (or who wants to do it all again) is more than welcome to come along to that!
I just got home myself! Will be uploading pictures soon. :)
