Sorry if you found my comment inappropriate Lauredhel; this is your space and I apologise.

I just don’t want people to be hoodwinked by his public persona.

And just as an update, Tommy and his wife have been indicted on charges of perjury and of trying to get other people to commit perjury, and will go on trial this year.

I apologise if my comment was hot headed, but my mother was a witness in his original defamation action, and will be called as a witness again in the perjury trial, and was one of the women decried as witches and feminist conspirators.

Just posting a note here, as I wait for a pending comment to be shortened: As readers will know who read the Wikipedia article I linked to in paragraph two, Tommy has not been a paragon of feminism throughout his life, and there is still possible pending legal action involved around his defamation suit with the News of the World.

This blog post is meant to highlight and discuss this particular incidence of behaviour. It is centred around the subject of Blokes Calling Out Blokes (and, to a lesser extent, feminism/sexism dynamics on BBUK), not around the subject of Tommy Sheridan’s life story and imbroglios. I’d be more than happy to publish links to discussions of the latter for those who wish to follow up that side of things, but would like to keep the conversation on this thread closer to topic. I have a new-found respect for LaToya after watching the series so far. She has endured rather a lot of crap in her life, and has come through it with a strange sort of fragile strength and honesty. On the first day, she and Tina discussed their experiences of domestic violence quite openly with each other – not the sort of thing I expected to see at all.

Ulrika is also rather delightful, an unapologetic F-word using feminist who speaks up whenever she feels moved to it.
