Fairfax never fail to disappoint. Right now WAToday is running a front-page-promoted slideshow thus:

The photos of the decade

A selection of amazing, spellbinding images from the past ten years.

Right next to a photo of a burning World Trade Centre tower. The rest of the slideshow is largely a collage of destruction, violence, death, and grief. Was I amazed? Was I spellbound? Not so much.

You can see it here if you particularly want to, but I don’t recommend it. Please be warned that some of the photos may be very upsetting.

… and Madonna and Britney pashing. *Why* was this considered as important as the other stuff shown (Boxing Day Tsunami, War in Iraq, War in Sudan etc)? Two famous women kissed each other –wooooo, earthshattering! *eyetwitch*
