C’mon, Sam Stosur, c’mon. I meant to put something up for Stosur yesterday for her upset win over Serena Williams. I love Serena, but I love the idea of maybe the first Aussie since Margaret Court to win the French Open just that little bit more.
I am so sad about Rue. Blanche was my favourite character as well as Dorothy, I’ve always felt a blend of the two. Man, the world has lost someone special.
Watched the French Open final last night – Stosur gave the first set away and although she rallied in the second set, Schiavone was the deserving winner and very charming and gracious on the podium with her lack of prepared speechifying. I love that her reaction to winning was just to flop on the ground, and then to climb through the stands to her family & friends with her white dress all covered in the red clay dust.
