This week, we return briefly to our lolcat roots, or at least near to them.
GirlieMac has created Status Cats, corresponding to HTTP return codes. HTTP return codes are 3 digit codes that web servers return to indicate what kind of response or content they are serving up: you probably recognise 404 (“Not Found”) and 500 (“Internal Server Error”) from your net travels:
The full set is at Flickr, and it’s still (as of time of writing) missing quite a few of the full list of codes. Can you find a cat for 101 (“Switching Protocols”), 201 (“Created”), 301 (“Moved Permanently”), or 415 (“Unsupported Media Type”), for example?
This is an open Status Cat thread. Other Internet protocols in cat form accepted!

wpmu.org has just created a plugin which will insert GirlieMac’s status cats into your WordPress site’s error pages, if you like that sort of thing.
