I am off for the second day of the Queensland Eisteddfod with my choir! We got a third and two highly commendeds yesterday… Maybe we can get another third or even a second today?

Hope everyone has a lovely easter weekend – I will be heading down to northern NSW to see my family afterwards, which is lovely :)

I don’t know if this has already been covered, but I’m loving these Hillary Clinton images (and meme blog) that are making the rounds:

I just want to drop by for a moment and note that I hate fucking hackers. This site’s OK, other sites are having problems.

Perla, I also love those photos, and feel bad-ass for recognising her location as the inside of a C-17. Normally I know nothing about vehicles and/or military stuff.

Jo, congrats to you and your choir, hope things went brilliantly today!

I took some photos of a couple of bull ants wrestling today, I think they came out pretty well: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mimbles/6906639102

The bunnies are growing fast and utterly adorable. Anyone want one?

I am sitting in Auckland feeling sleep deprived and guilty that the Easter Bunny went to be and completely forgot to leave any eggs at the bottom of the bed. We said Easter Bunny couldn’t get through the security gate so has left all the eggs at rellos place.

We landed late yesterday and went to get some eggs last night. The local Woolies (called Countdown here) was sold out of everything except creme eggs which the kids don’t like. I managed to get a couple of bags of mini eggs from a service station which was all they had left apart from a broken bunny and a caved in egg. They take their Easter chocolate very seriously in this part of the world!

Hoping to meet up with Deborah Strangeland on Friday which will be lovely. Until then will be seeing some of the sights of Auckland and surrounds and enjoying lots of new babby snuggles and 2 y.o. jokes from my gorgeous nieces.

    Have a safe holiday everyone.

Hoyden authors: sorry I’m not around to help with the spam which seems to be getting through the filter, I won’t have a stable IP address while I’m here.

To any celibate hackers, you are also contemptable.

    YetAnotherMatt thanks for the giggle.

The good part of Easter break (catching up with family, not thinking about work, taking an impromptu trip to Sydney) has finished and I’m now getting stuck into the mountainous pile of marking that won’t mark itself, alas. My kids are spending two days with my in-laws which I’m sure they’ll enjoy much more than hanging with me when I’m in full marking frenzy. Regular caffination and chocolate helps me during this time (fortunately it was the feast of the chocolate this weekend!).

I hope everyone’s able to enjoy the sunshine today :)
