Found nesting on top of a monopole (cell phone tower) in Coolum, Qld by technicians who were scheduled to perform upgrade work.
Vodafone has announced that the baby eagles are to be left and allowed to leave the nest naturally. The upgrade has been rescheduled until October, when the eagle nestlings will have fully fledged.
The monopole tower design is meant to make it less likely that eagles will nest in them (compared to the lattice tower design). Not this time.
