I think if that is meant to be what Google says is Sugar Skull art, then he should be suing the tattoo artist.

I saw that this morning and thought, ‘you’ve got to be fucking kidding me’. His excuse was so pathetic. It’s not a Mexican Day of the Dead sugar skull. They look nothing like that, because they don’t look like bashed women.

The lesson he learned from bashing his partner is that violence against women doesn’t hurt his career at all. So it doesn’t surprise me that he got the ‘symbol’ of his career success tattooed on his neck.

(I did have to laugh (at him) when he said it was from MAC packaging.)

Because the appropriation of Day of the Dead imagery by non-Mexicans for aesthetic funtimes: totally not problematic.

I’m not generally someone to judge other people’s tattoos (except for that one piercer in Sydney who decided to ‘reclaim’ a swastika as a WASP, who is evidently a douche), but that is one bad quality neck tattoo, whatever it’s meant to be.

Skulls don’t have lips, or noses instead of apertures, or eyes instead of sockets.

    Exactly.

Whatever it’s ‘supposed’ to be I couldn’t say – I can see both.

What this does bring to my mind, however, is the idiocy of many celebrities just doing their thing without running it by a good publicist first, and then crying later when people criticize them.

While I’m not happy that the tattoo has upset Rihanna, it apparently is preventing them from rekindling their relationship, which can only be a good thing, I would imagine (not knowing either of them, of course).
