Yet this repellent Republican platform, which Palin fully supports, is meant to be ignored by pro-choice feminists just because Palin has ovaries?

    Fat chance.

the GOP wants to extend Fourteenth Amendment rights to zygotes, embryos, and fetuses. This means that consider legal personhood should begin as soon as egg envelopes sperm

Does that mean that every miscarriage needs a death certificate, regardless of when it occurs? How ridiculous is this going to get?

Why can’t they see the disconnect between “You get pregnant, you gonna have that baby missy” (ignoring the fact that she didn’t get pregnant all by herself, must have been those damn elves again) and “don’t expect no welfare for you slutty single mothers”.

What’s scary is that they can state this openly and it will NOT result in nobody voting for them ever, ever again.

While we’re on the general subject of idiotic assumptions the GOP makes about how women vote, check out the Doonesbury flashback from twenty years ago:

    That’s a good one, Orlando :)

The Doonesbury site really impresses me – it’s so well set up to get different aspects of the strip over time.

(For anyone accessing that link after today though, they’ll see another set of strips, so for reference the one being referred to is September 08, 1988, which is searchable through the archives.)
