Mary is a Sydneysider, a computer programmer, a PhD student and a relatively newly minted mother. She saves a small part of world, a bit that has to do with women and technology, with her non-profit the Ada Initiative.
Apart from Hoyden, Mary also writes for Geek Feminism, and, when there’s no other suitable venue, for her own blog Lecta.
- Website: http://puzzling.org/
Mary is “massively multiblogular”, to use Liz Henry’s useful phrase. Geek Feminism and Hoyden About Town get first pick of her longer pieces, most of her remaining long-form writing appears at Lecta.
Other places Mary is found on the web:
- Identi.ca/Twitter
- Incrementum, her parenting blog
Other things that Mary is interested in that don’t appear very often at Hoyden: computational linguistics; lexical semantics; SCUBA diving; photography; computer programming; Free Software/Open Source software and community; and computer games.
This page is the only place in the entire Hoyden community where Mary dares to confess that she is not especially interested in Doctor Who. She hastens to assure Hoyden‘s dedicated readers that she has nothing but affection for otters.
