Climate Change Denial | via climatechangehealth.com

Reminder: 9 of the 10 hottest years on record occurred since the year 2000

By tigtog on February 3, 2012

And that’s just one of the datasets supporting the fact that the planet’s climate is warming. The Bad Astronomer provides a case study of the tactics of climate change denial: it’s a textbook case of denialist sleight of hand, of distraction, distortion, error, and misdirection.

Quicklink: Tim Lambert zings Andrew Bolt

By tigtog on January 23, 2011

Yes, Andrew: a pdf labelled ‘Chapter 4′ is never ever going to be the “whole report” now, is it? So perhaps your pronouncement that “not once did it mention floods” was rather courageous (in the Sir Humphrey sense) on your part.

Ozblogistan spats: this time it’s climate change

By tigtog on September 6, 2010

However, the reason that critics at LP and on her own blog were so harsh about LE’s stance on climate change science, while virtually ignoring her points on inequitable outcomes of climate change mitigation policies? Because of how she wrote her article…

Quote of the Week?

By tigtog on March 16, 2010

“If we just take our temperature, all of Australia has experienced warming over the last 50 years. We are warming in every part of the country during every season and as each decade goes by, the records are being broken.”

Procrastination aid Of The Day: UEA CRU hyperbole

By tigtog on November 30, 2009

The emails largely had to do with dealing with an already known problem with dendrochronology. The oceans are still rising, the Arctic ice is still melting back worse in the summer, the glaciers are still withdrawing. And all of this is still exceeding IPCC models, as the modelers well know. The hockey stick has acquired another crook.

Denialism and climate change

By tigtog on September 3, 2008

Having only so many endlessly whirling arguments to devote my time to, I haven’t written hardly anything on the issues of climate change and the vagaries of the denialists here in yonks. I’m not going to write anything in particular today either, but I want to plug Brian Bahnisch’s series of posts from the last [...]

By tigtog on May 31, 2007

An inadvertent companion piece to Suzoz’ earlier find from New Scientist (A guide to the Perplexed on Climate Change), from Gristmill comes How to Talk to a Global Warming Skeptic. a complete listing of the articles in “How to Talk to a Climate Skeptic,” a series by Coby Beck containing responses to the most common [...]
