What’s piqued your media interests lately?
A sketch from this week’s Inside Amy Schumer: Amy stumbles upon a group of her show-business heroes celebrating a rite of passage – for one of them this is her Last F**kable Day (transcript included).
The enduring lesson I learnt about ANZAC Day from the family members who served in either/both World Wars is that political incompetence costs lives, and that the sacrifices made by the dead are best honoured by the rest of us keeping a really close eye on our political class. I wish our mainstream media understood this ongoing need for vigilance better right now.
What’s piqued your media interests lately?
The Australian government has announced that it intends to stop welfare payments to parents who refuse to vaccinate their children.
I have some reservations about this policy.
The James Tiptree Jr. literary prize for science fiction or fantasy published during 2014 that expands or explores our understanding of gender was announced over the Easter weekend.
