I’m rather liking the rethink-V-day activism around this year, which has ended up being a bit more substantive than some of the Anti-Valentine hating that I’ve seen around in other years. How about doing something positive/useful/affirming instead? Create rather than consume, or raise awareness about the limited ways we think about romance.
How long do you have to wait for a measly 250,000 votes on FB before you realise the target market just isn’t interested enough in whether your animated mascot ‘lives’ or ‘dies’? The intensely irritating ad is building an aversion response within this consumer which is likely to last for years, and I’m far from the only one. Well done, expensive social media marketing ‘experts’!
So here’s some unnecessary and unkind rubbish in a new ad from Libra, a company selling tampons, pads and liners in New Zealand and Australia. Poking fun at trans women is very much not how to get the tampon-buying public on your side.
After many years of receiving only one or two such enquiries per year, all of a sudden we’re getting two or three a week.
I wonder if Mr Harvey thought through the consequences of highlighting to his customers on every news site just how much better deals are online.
Looks like Selleys doesn’t want women to buy its products.
