TRIGGER WARNING.
This woman was 14 years old when her own daughter was born. She is 27 years old now.
Her daughter is 13 years old and has been sexually assaulted by her grandfather. (It is quite possible that the grandfather is also this woman’s father – you can’t tell from the limited information available).
It is a pretty safe bet that this woman has been through a lot recently.
Having walked through my soaping setup the other day, now it’s time to tackle the nitty gritty: the soapmaking itself, from lye to moulds.
One thing that I particularly enjoy when I visit another place is figuring out how to use the public transport system. I like the fact that I can figure it out – that the tools provided are tools I am able to use. Some of the tools which are commonly available (sometimes online) are: timetables and route maps, route diagrams at stations/stops and in the relevant vehicle, stop announcements (visual and audio), signs at stations/stops.
Perhaps it’s ironic, but I think that Sydney is one of the worst places I’ve been when it comes to figuring that sort of thing out. This has a serious impact on the accessibility of our public transport.
Too many last minute errands before sprog the younger heads off on school trip to France this evening.
Soap, soap, soap! It’s been so long since I last made some, and the soapmaking pressure was building so that I had a real head of steam going. Yesterday I finally had the combination of an assistant present, no child in the house, and a little allocation of spoons, so away we went!
Please feel free to use this thread to natter about anything your heart desires.

Announcing the release of this particular video, he commented “The launch of this new video comes on White Balloon Day – a time to break the silence on child sexual assault and raise awareness that child safety is everyone’s responsibility.”
Everyone’s responsibility. Everyone’s. Shall we take a quick peek at the video in question?
The best thing in Spilt’s post? Calling out the self-shit-talking that some indulge in, about the horrible flaws in their own mildly flabby body in the presence of a much fatter person, for what it is – passive-agressive fat-shaming insults that are downright rude.
