I have been mostly speechless/typingless at the latest news, taking refuge in offline activities. But I should still put up a post for the rest of you to vent/rant or even ideally substantively discuss these issues, because disengagement is never going to be a solution, even if it’s sometimes necessary for some self-care. Go for it.

Good news everybody! Our esteemed Treasurer Joe Hockey just told the Kiwis that the Australian economy is not in crisis nor even in trouble!

Mr Pyne told the ABC’s Lateline that the AFP were concerned about his and the Prime Minister’s safety should they attend the event in Geelong.
He also said the Prime Minister took the decision “so that students can get on with their studies unmolested by the Socialist Alternative”.

Meanwhile, First Dog In The Moon makes some points about our nation’s hugely expensive mistreatment of refugees and how public servant redundancies which get replaced by more expensive consultants don’t actually help the sacred bottom line.
