Conflicting responses from me in this episode – I liked the noirish atmosphere and the big picture, BUT just how many annoyingly obvious plotholes can one episode have?

I meant to put this up yesterday as a traditional HaT Whoydensday, but didn’t because of reasons. So it’s a day late.

A movie-style poster in Wild West fashion for *A Town Called Mercy* - everything is rendered in a dusty overlay. We see a pair of trousered and booted legs in gunfighter wide stance, but the arm hanging beside where we expect to see a gun holster is instead some sort of cyber-cannon. Through the legs we see the Doctor, Amy and Rory staring the gunfighter down.

So the theme for this season now seems more clear:

According to the angriest keyboard pounders in the Twitterverse, Catherine Deveny rudely interrupted & talked loudly over the top of everybody else on Q&A on Monday night, and was especially disrespectful to the Anglican Archbishop of Sydney, Peter Jensen. What a frightfully boorish display that would be if it were true.

The first thing we notice is what appears to be a museum exhibit showing a stegosaurus and two pterodactyls, then it registers that they're standing in a corridor next to a picture window through which we can see planet Earth and its Moon - then we notice that the Doctor is riding the stegosaurus.

We watched the show on iView last night, via a recent update to our venerable PS3 which allowed us to hook our TV directly into ABC’s iView interface. Noice. It will be broadcast on Australian free-to-air next Saturday September 8th. Who else has geeked out already?
