I haven’t been paying attention to all the details of who said what about Adam Goodes since the on-field incident last week, but I’m pleasantly surprised to see Eddie Maguire now offering proper acknowledgements of the effects of racial vilification and proper apologies for uttering a racial slur. It’s a start.
A short while ago Anita Sarkeesian published another video to her Feminist Frequency YouTube channel. Within an hour it was taken down by YouTube because it had been flagged as containing objectionable content. Feminist Frequency appealed the takedown, and it was quickly restored. Good on YouTube for restoring the video so quickly, but why doesn’t YouTube have a better mechanism for immunising known target accounts against vexatious complaints?
How to undermine your own Women In Secularism conference: spend most of your opening speech scolding feminists for Doin It Rong, because why not encourage the already hyper-active flying monkeys to fling more crap at secular women?
