Some newcomers to Hoyden may have received the impression, over the past few weeks, that I think otters are cute little cuddly furry things. Nothing could be further from the truth. Vicious little weasels, the lot of them, and I love them for it. Here’s a video of otters showing a crocodile just who’s in charge.

I love black cats so I was delighted when basement cat came onto the scene. I hope that this long lived meme is around for a while yet. If you prefer ceiling cat, feel free to post them too.

I’ve been in the water with a lot of sharks: leopard sharks, wobbegongs, Port Jackson sharks, grey and white tipped reef sharks and grey nurse sharks. What’s a scary thing I’ve encountered diving? That dreaded apex predatory homo sapiens. Homo sapiens is of course the big threat to today’s Endangered Sunday species, the grey nurse shark or carcharias taurus.
