    I think we got termites :( or maggots :( :( :(

I don’t know which is worse. I think we need an exterminator.

My sympathy about the critters. I think rats have returned to our cellar. We had an exterminator in a few months ago, and it seemed to get rid of them. But then there was the Smell. And then the plague of flies. Urrggh.

I’m getting annoyed because my exam results were due yesterday and still haven’t come out. I’ll probably have to wait until Monday. Although they made me do an exam on a Saturday, so I feel by rights the examiners should work Saturdays too.

Passed my citizenship test. Woot. The ceremony and all that pledging hand over the heart stuff to come.

tigtog, I don’t know about that but it would be a useful specialty, what with today’s social media and all.

About 10 years ago I had to talk to a counselor/social worker and I never felt comfortable telling her about my goings-on online. I am 100% certain that she would have taken steps to get involved – by that I mean, get me disconnected from the internet which unfortunately was at the time my only reliable way of talking to my partner (who I still go out with to this day.) Didn’t want that to happen.

K_ yes, unfortunately, there is still a profound ignorance in many sections of society on social media of all kinds and how they can be beneficial rather than scary. The default position would be to see it as some kind of geeky addiction and try to get you away from it.

Can anyone help me? Are there any networks/forums online for people to talk frankly/confidentially about being on Centrelink payments (or in particular, the DSP)? Or in general about being disabled in Australia, and resources you can access? For example, I want to find out my rights in regards to asking the doctor for a community health care plan renewal for more bulk-billed osteopath visits before the year’s up, I heard a rumour you could do that. I don’t know if there’s legislation I can look at, or what, but surely there are lots of other Australians in the same boat as me. Thanks if anyone can help.
