    Just got knocked back for a volunteer position I really wanted to get. Feel like I can’t get a job even by working for free. Pretty sure by the end of my degree I’ll still be unemployed and unemployable.

    @AK- 😦 they don’t know what they are missing. You are not unemployable, you just haven’t found the right job yet, or it hasn’t found you. It’s out there, I’m sure of it. Maybe it’s just in disguise right now?

    On Q&A last night John Pilger stated that the potential rape charge Assange is under investigation for would not be considered rape in UK or Australian law, and no one corrected him. This scares the hell out of me, so I’ve posted the message below on their discussion board. Might other Hoydens be willing to do the same, particularly in regard to the call for a correction to be announced next week?

    Some very alarming misinformation was allowed to go unchallenged on last night’s program, and it is very important that you should publish a correction.
    In his answer to this question, John Pilger stated that the accusation of rape made against Assange would not be considered rape in the UK or in Australia. This is factually inaccurate. The potential rape charge pertains to the assertion that Assange penetrated a sleeping woman. This is rape in US, UK and Australian law (see, for example the 2009 cases of Arvind Prasad and Matthew Sloan, in Tasmania and South Australia respectively), and you have effectively allowed someone to tell Australians listening that it isn’t. I’m sure I don’t need to point out how dangerous such false information could be. I hope you will clearly and unambiguously address this next week, and on your website.

    @ Orlando – done. I have also alerted the moderator to the comment that suggests rape victims are in court for compo. I don’t hold out a lot of hope though.
