My car just punched me in the face

The open car door did have some wind assistance (it’s very, very windy in Sydney today). I saw stars.

The last time I copped a sock to the jaw was when I wasn’t paying quite enough attention in a taekwondo class more than 20 years ago. I’d forgotten what it feels like.

  1. Your car should get together with my umbrella and make an alliance with the magpie at the end of my street. United they would dominate a world of broken jaws.

  2. Ow, hope you aren’t sporting too many bruises, doesn’t sound like fun. Nor does the umbrella or the magpie. Makes me want to stay inside tucked up in the doona.

  3. Hope your face has recovered and the car is feeling suitably chastened!

  4. I hope you’re feeling better. I dropped my motorbike on my leg yesterday at a stop sign, so I know the feeling.

  5. Sympathies for all the hurts.

  6. I think I got off lightly, really. It’s sore to the touch this morning, but I can chew without pain. No bruising yet, although I think it might come up over the next few days.

  7. If there is bruising, are you going to tell people the truth, or make up something more grandiose?
