  1. image magic you haz!
That’s so wonderful I went and found the original gif.

  2. I was thinking it’s been a while since I published this lovely thing (always have to do it every year or so.) My favourite short film ever, a machinima piece made out of footage from Library of Congress.
A meditation on destruction… renewal? Beautiful, anyway.

  3. I haven’t listened to Zoë Keating’s cello music for several months now, and especially enjoyed rediscovering Optimist (free streaming or download from her site, although I prefer the live version at the end of the same album). You can also see her perform it (cello and laptop!) for Radio National.

  4. Ummm… how much Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII, or Avengers fanfic would you like?
Ah, the heck with it – some recommendations from all of ‘em.
For the Avengers, have Culture and Other Balls of Twine, by LithiumDoll. Wherein the Avengers take a road trip, their new handler wins at rock-paper-scissors against Maria Hill, and Nick Fury succeeds in his dastardly plans.
There’s also The Internet Is A Bad Influence by Pianogirl.
For Final Fantasy VII, there’s this lovely one by Joudama starring Vincent Valentine – Where One’s Responsibilities Lie.
Also, have a dekko at I’m No Superman by Mystiri1, a fic which twists some of the FFVII characters into a superhero universe.
For Final Fantasy VIII, have one from Acid Rain called Winter Witchery, set post-game, and possibly in a sort of AU space.
Plus you get one of my favourite stories for this fandom. It’s a work in progress, which means it’s incomplete at the moment, but I still think it’s worth recommending anyway: Bolt Out of the Blue, by RaceUlfson. An examination of whether the Hero Of The World and the Evil Sorceress’s Knight can forge ordinary, everyday lives for themselves.
If nothing else, fanfic provides a world wherein the distractions of election campaigns don’t exist. And if that doesn’t work, drop me an email, and I’ll dig out the really slashy stuff.

  5. I think this video should be entitled “My’z cover is totes not blown.”

  6. Awww, I miss Ten.
