Check out the gallery of women celebrating IWD around the world at the IWD website (click on the logo). A friend just sent me the message below in an email. I’m not usually a fan of chain emails, but I’ll make an exception for this one.
Happy International Women’s Day.
On this day I am thinking of all the wonderful women in my life, my friends, my colleagues, my daughters, sisters, nieces, aunties, mother, so many wonderful women. I am also realising how inspired I am by the many creative, intellectual, warrior, nurturing, challenging, bumptious and downright obnoxious and argumentative women who live in my times and who have lived in times immemorial. Once again, Happy International Women’s Day and thank-you for being part of this wonderful sisterhood of women in my life.
My husband also sent me an optimistic and mushy email to mark the day which I will not share, but I’m really chuffed that he did.
I will be putting up my offical Blog Against Sexism post later today, but probably not until late arvo/early evening.
