I only saw the post because you trackbacked to one of my other sites, Feminism 101. I’ll edit it to reflect the real link, but it’s a shame, you had some good comments there.
The comments were all imported from my blogspot page. So nothing was really lost.
P.S. I love Feminism 101. It’s been really useful for getting me over the “I’m not a feminist, but…” mindset I’d had for a long time.

It’s a good post, which I’ll say here, since you’re reading the thread (my computer threw a tizzy when I tried to post on yours).
There was a “furthermore” that struck me about the stomach/hunger takedown of the uncontrollable penis. The stomach is a lot more insistent than the penis (or genitals in general) – go without sex for two months, and food for the last two days of those two months, and you’re going to be a lot hungrier than you are horny. Indeed, there’s actual danger in not eating, and yet men manage to control their desire for food.
The uncontrollable penis is a pathetic myth when compared to a drive that is more urgent, more primal, and more dangerous to ignore.
(I was in two minds about putting in the last sentence, but urgent and primal are the way the sex drive is portrayed in these justifications – so it was worth including them in an observation that you’d identified a drive fitting them far better).
