I just won’t answer for another hour or so, until we’ve got this Year 11 (!) Assessment Task (!) presentation (!) which I was first told “wasn’t quite ready” (!) about at approx 11:30pm last night, handed in (Period 5).

I can’t resist it, sorry:
Does the gold standard work better for currencies than fiat money or fractional reserve banking? Or would some kind of 100% backed carbon nano-rod based money be a better proposition for deflationary growth?
Which was more important historically the Bronze Age or the Iron Age?
How would I best use metal to rock out?
I want to know what grade you get!
Deborah, with the time available and with his plethora of unorganised material, the best I could do was help him format the presentation to cover the 5 basic questions and include sentences addressing the 10 topics required to be covered within those 5 questions. I went and found the images for his powerpoint presentation, but he still stitched it together.
The material in the end was about twice what he needs for a 5-6 minute presentation, but we just didn’t have time to winnow it down further. He had instructions to go through it with a highlighter for the key points at lunchtime, and he should be fronting up to Chemistry to present the talk now. I’m hoping he scrapes a passing grade, and I’ll be happy with that.
He did so much better on his English Assessment Task (also an oral presentation) last week. Why couldn’t this week have been like last week?
P.S. I think he’d forgotten that Friday was a holiday, and he was planning to do all this stuff tonight and hand it in tomorrow, but he can’t, can he?
I didn’t really think you’d done it for him…
I’ve just been at school helping the year 6 / 7 debating team. They’re just starting to learn how to debate and how to prepare a case, and I find it so hard not to leap in and come up with a heap of ideas for them and structure their case and write their speeches. I’ve got four very keen speakers, and one who isn’t so keen; I suspect zie has been pressured into it by hir parents. That will be tricky.
Well, really you gotta start with the blues and how it was interpreted via the Stones and Yardbirds. Don’t forget the Kinks and The Who and…oh, I see it is about “metals” not “metal.” Dang.
Half an hour earlier and that would have been my joke.
