@Brocklesnitch has posted a video of her niece having her breakfast stolen by parrots. I won’t post it here because I don’t know either of them IRL, but if you are on twitter look it up because it is awesomely cute. It was posted tonight.
Karl Lagerfeld’s kitty (apparently) is called Choupette (a name which delights me) and has a cushion that announces “ici, c’est la place du chat” (‘This is the cat’s spot’ according to my schoolgirl French).
Aphie, that is one gorgeous little cat. A bit of googling leads me to the conclusion that Lagerfeld is rather like Bubble from AbFab:
Eddie: I thought I told you to buy a laptop.
Bubble: A lap… top? Top?
[opens her bag and reveals a small lap dog]
Eddie: Get rid of it.
Bubble: Oh! But I’ve grown so fond! And it’s SO cute. And… it’s not just for life! It’s for Christmas!
Choupette is what people will call your cute baby if you show it to them in France. Or at least, they did mine. I think it’s a diminutive of cabbage.
That cartoon makes me miss hell on hairy legs.
Karen Healey cordially invites all you Ladies* on the Internet to tell her why you are awesome.
Thanks for the clarification, tigtog! “Lady” is something I definitely do not identify as.
I meant to blockquote that clarification, as it’s from Karen’s original post. Fixed now.
Some pedant on Salon wants me to stop using two spaces after a period because Typography. Hmmmf.
@TT in the 90’s I learnt to put two spaces after the . In the 2000’s I learnt not to. He huffs and puffs about it being decided long ago but I don’t think it really was that long ago. Most people probably wouldn’t notice.
