You might all like this blog post by one of my colleagues. It is a letter to her non-black friends about why she blogs about her hair. She does an amazing job of explaining intersectionaly, how colonialism is internalised and plays out on the body and about the ahistorical nature of easy mainstream privilege and prejudice.
Plus she has great hair.
