Benazir Bhutto writes of being the first ever elected national leader to give birth while in office. Her pregnancies became political capital.

And yet another female minister has stepped out of Cabinet to the back bench in order to spend more time with her offspring – NSW MLA Carmel Tebbutt. I empathise, and even applaud her. I’d applaud a male minister willing to do the same even harder.
