My kids are officially proper teenagers

It’s well after 6 a.m. on Xmas morning and they’re still in bed.

  1. It’s so weird to me that somewhere else in the world, it’s tomorrow already. 😛

  2. Merry Christmas to you, Anji! They woke up just after 7 a.m. in the end, and we’ve now had breakfast and opened presents and they’re playing on the Wii.

  3. I woke up at 6am full of “presents!” cheer. Does that make me a child, or is it just a stage one reaches after teenagerness is done? 🙂

  4. Merry Christmas to you too Tigtog. It’s 10pm here, and we’re hungrily trying to find a takeaway that’s open on Christmas Eve. Not having much luck, as you might expect. 😉 My son is with his dad’s family until Boxing Day morning so I’m just chilling out through Christmas. 😀

  5. Mine managed to sleep until just before seven, which I thought was pretty good! I’m now on the bed covered in a mound of presents and wrapping paper. In a couple of hours, we’ll be off to scarf crayfish and watch a big pile of young cousins getting silly.
AND IT’S NOT HOT. Thank you, Universe.
    Merry Xmas, folks.

  6. One of my sisters was well into her twenties before she could sleep a wink on Christmas Eve.

  7. I heard my lot get up at about 5:30 am but they didn’t come and haul us out of bed till 6:30 – a VAST improvement on the 3:30 am awakening we had last year!
    Merry Christmas all 🙂

  8. Merry Christmas Tigtog and Lauredhel. I love the “similar posts” feature, because I had forgotten “embuggerance”, and it’s such a necessary word.

  9. Ours woke just after 6am, and got us out of bed, with coffee, at about 6.30am. Very civilised, for two seven year olds and a ten year old.

  10. Ah, but do they pass the ultimate teenage test … do clothes at christmas “count”?

  11. Oddly enough, this year they didn’t get any new clothes. Gift vouchers seem to have taken over.

  12. I slept till 2 p.m. Does this make me officially an adult? 😉
I may have stayed up past my bedtime because I may have snuck past the nativity scene on the way home that may have the whitest Mary, Jesus, and Joseph I’ve ever seen, and I may have stuck a sign saying “Congrulations! It’s a girl!” up in front of it.
    Maybe.
