  2. Delurking! I met Viv at the Hoyden Christmas drinks in Sydney, though. I was the one in the pink dress.
Strangely, I have a phobia of posting comments (or, for that matter, blog posts) — something like a fear of public speaking, although I’ve done a bit of that now. Which is incredibly ironic considering I’m preparing a talk on the ‘safe space’ concept, inspired by blogs like this one.

  3. Hi, Alice! I remember you from drinks. 🙂 Did you see that we’re planning another meetup?

  4. Beppie: Yes! Greatly looking forward to it. That will be a few days before I have to give my talk, too, so maybe I can give it a practice run there! (It’s only 5 minutes.)

  5. Hi! Not exactly a delurk, as I have commented once or three times before, but since switching hemispheres for some reason Hoyden is on my radar. I’ll keep poking around b/c I love your pregnancy/childbirth/OB medical posts.
I always think my cat is trying to kill me (back when I had a cat *sniffle*, so here’s my favorite:

  6. been here before but just wanted to say hi.
I’ve got quite a few feminist blogs on my google reader as antidote to the sexist crap of daily life .
Particularly pissed off with the media today – especially the freakin Sam in the City @ SMH .
I cannot for the life of me understand why such blatant misogyny and the fetid hatefest of her blog posters are allowed on a major newspapers website.
Geez going to get some beer on the way home and give my horse a big hug when I see her this afternoon. She helps me makes sense of this world.

  7. Delurk! I found my way here by reading tigtog on Fem101 and lauredhel linked/guest-posting on Shakesville. I’ve been reading along for awhile, but I’ve been neither blogging nor commenting anywhere as much as I used to… just taking a bit of a quiet break, I suppose.
    Tanglethis’s last blog post..Thanks, Magritte

  9. delurking for teh kittehs 🙂

i found you months ago googling some stuff for work, and have been reading most days since then.

great women, thanks for your information and insights!

  10. I’ve been lurking on a very regular basis for a couple of months now, linked from either Shakesville or The Hand Mirror, or both. Loving all the posts on birth and pregnancy since I’m a kiwi student midwife who is really sad to see how little attention is paid to that area of reproductive rights in the feminist blogosphere. Some top-notch work! Thanks for all of it.

  16. Hello! This comment comes from a certain country best known for its ‘coffee’ shops in the United States of Europe. On holiday here until the end of the month.
Anyway, wanted to report my disgust with a company called ‘Sappho’ (I think) which makes women’s lingerie. It’s slogan: “Dress less to impress.”
I’ll leave it at that, shall I?
