Today’s otters are from a Minnesota Zoo advertisement.

Description: A montage of extremely cute sea otters. Captioned:

“Kittens can’t stand them.

Puppies feel threatened.

Even bunnies are jealous.

Watch your back Mr. Otter.

Sea Otters of Russia’s Grizzly Coast.

  1. This only just popped up in my feedreader (and I’m about to edit FemmoStroppo to include it) from Richie at Crimitism: Stick Figures vs Matriarchy. It’s two months since his last webcomic slapdown, and it’s a beaut. Remove coffee from vicinity of keyboard before reading.

  2. Haven’t been posting much of late because I seem to have been knocked sideways by a kind of indeterminate SOMETHING which started as joint pain and now seems to be all-over pain, plus weird foot pain which is affecting my ability to get around. Plus being a bit of a saddo. It seems to have come on after going into menopause round about February. Coincidence? I feel as if I want to blog it but I’m scared to mention it in case I get branded as mad and flaky and not to be listened to because OMG menopausal woman. Afraid to mention it at work for the same reason. Feel I will never be taken seriously again if I express any opinion that is not all butterflies and little baa-lambs. There’s enough still out there about women who are having periods to make me dread the attitudes which will arise around menopause.
Four things I am finding very cool today:
    1. This article and photo (LOLcat This!!)
    2. Richie having a new post up!
    3. Son was always the muckup kid in Prep-3, now he is powering ahead and is vice captain of his primary school. Tomorrow they’re having a 90th birthday school celebration and he is going to be taking groups around.
    4. I was just told about this by one of my relatives, the principal is a distant relative of mine. His mum died around the same time so I really feel for him. But he should be so, so proud. The boy has now been moved to a general ward and by Mark’s dad’s account should be OK.

  3. If you enjoyed that TT you’ll enjoy the archives at Your Webcomic Is Bad (though I think I may have pointed you that way before).
Those horror webcomics are actually quite comforting, you know. You can look at them and say to yourself: I know that no matter how bad things get, or what straits I find myself in in the rest of my life, I will never ever be capable of making something so very, very, shitty.

  4. Helen, sorry to hear that you’re feeling achy and down. That’s no fun at all, and I totally hear you on the hesitancy to blog about a natural hormonal progression and the many ways that sucks. Love your #1, congrats to you on a son made of awesome, and your relative Mark should indeed be proud.
Liam, I’m not feeling robust enough right now to click on that link. I think that might have to wait until after dinner and wine.
We went out and got a new gas heater today (our old one died last winter). Cosy toes!

  5. I’m hosting the next Asian Women Blog Carnival and one of the first comments I got was about how discouraging it is to post anything critical for fear of hateful comments from academic feminists =/ I don’t know why but I felt kind of let down that that would be the first thing said. It’s not stopping me from promoting the carnival as far out as possible, but still.
Other than that, I finished reading a book called Wonder Women: Feminisms and Supheroes. A lot of it was a bit lost on me since I don’t read comics, but if anybody wants it, I can send it out!

  6. If something is worth having, it’s worth waiting for
Mind you, I wouldn’t fancy being pregnant for 13 months. =8-(

  7. A lovely woman, a complete stranger, offered to help me move a heavy chest of drawers from my car on the weekend. I thanked her and explained I was only pushing them aside so my son could wriggle past them. I could have done with her help when I got home though, my back is still sore from moving them myself (yes I took the drawers out first). Her lovely offer really made my day.

  8. @ Mindy:
I love it when folks are unexpectedly kind like that. Hope your back recovers soon.

  9. More of an irritation than anything else. I probably should stop picking up the three year old as well.

  10. And put on a thermal!

  11. It really shouldn’t happen to a dog
[Warning: don’t watch this news piece immediately prior to, after or whilst, eating.]

  12. I deleted the 12 y.o. post because it wasn’t what I thought it was. Thanks Orlando and curiosities for pointing that out. I’m still annoyed with the ‘fell pregnant’ headline though. Whoops she fell over and look what happened.

  13. A new bingo card is out, for the use of pornographic images in technical presentations. Oh my brain:
