  1. The kids finally dragged us to see The Avengers movie last night. Toshtastic! Even more and better OTT action and banter than expected.
(I knew going in that it was a Bechdel-fail. At least the three female leads were SIKAW I could enjoy watching even if they never conversed, but so over scripts where women only interact with the men around them.)

  2. Mastitis is boo, news at 11 😦

  3. Sorry to hear that, Mary!
    *TW: Period business, contraceptive implants*
I have mentioned my implanon in Otterdays past. It has been in since February.
Is it strange to miss having periods? I used to intentionally skip periods while on the Pill, so I don’t get all sentimental about it every month! I wouldn’t mind having one every other month or so, though.
I feel the need to say that I do appreciate the near impenetrable wall the implanon has built up!

  4. Phew!
Been rushing about like a mad thing lately – I had a 1500 word lab report, a 2000 word essay, and a statistics assignment all due between Friday last week, and yesterday afternoon. Not helped by my computer dying horribly Wednesday a week ago, and thus necessitating the purchase of a new machine (now ensconced on the cake cooler – another laptop rather than a desktop box) and a Thursday I couldn’t really spare spent doing the install & reboot polka.
Now I’m finally looking around the house, and of course it looks like a bomb hit. Third load of washing for the day is in the machine, and I’m busy tackling the slopes of Mt Washingup, as well as catching up on about a week’s worth of online reading, plus three rounds of footy stats to fiddle with.

  5. @Megpie71, why IS it that electronic (etc) tools always break at the most annoying time possible?
This is something I have been contemplating recently.

  6. Signal boosting an article and call from the Hathor Legacy (content warning: advocacy of spousal murder).

  7. @Jo So why are your tools broken just now?

    They Just Are.

  8. @tigtog Loved the Avengers. I saw it twice in the cinema, and I haven’t done that for any movie since Mulan (and I so want a Black Widow movie!). The bro-fest was the one real unhappy making thing for me. It just goes to show, in Hollywood women and MOC can be fun/ interesting supporting characters, but when you bring the main characters into one movie we get to see whose story is really getting told. Also the idea that the World’s Mightiest Heroes are overwhelmingly white, male and American is insulting.
@Megpie. Doing finals at the moment, including statistics. Kind of feel like I’m going to have to take the course again to understand it all. Congratulations on getting it all done, and I hope the new computer doesn’t conk out at an inconvenient time like the old one!

  9. Was googling Lady Sybil from Downton Abbey to see if I could find out if she was supposed to be ‘out’ yet (seems it’s about to be her first season, I wonder what they’ll show of it) and stumbled across cocktails created for each of the three sisters. Fun!

  10. I woke up at 3.30 today, because I set my alarm for 5.30 and my body really doesn’t like my alarm. Fun times. Actually, it ended up being fun times, because I went to an IDAHO event in the country. I’m pretty tired now, though, and still have to do a bunch of work today…!
I’ll write a post for HAT one of these days, I swear!!

  11. My muse (or my inner cranky lady) seems to have gone on holidays and left me with this cough/cold/cottonwool head thingy. I hope it goes soon and she comes back.

  12. That was an apology for not posting btw not a cry for sympathy. I’m not actually that sick anymore, just blah.
