I heard today on FB that cats were once worshipped as gods. My cats didn’t get that memo, they still think they are gods. So this latest whimsy has a feline flavour.
Caption: Had to unplug the touch lamp to prevent this adorable bastard from turning it on whenever he was hungry at night. Image description: Lit lamp with white shade and grey stem on a bedside table. Top half of white cat visible on right hand side. Cat has one paw resting on the bedside table and the other reaching toward the lamp.
Caption: And this is where I would put my scratch post. IF I HAD ONE Image description: Gif of Grey cat staring at spot on the floor then turning to look accusingly at viewer.
Sometimes we all just need to see teh awesome so we can chillax. Please share your favourite links in comments … anything that has recently surprised, delighted, intrigued or otherwise positively engaged you: think of these threads as a brain-bleach and unicorn-chaser repository.
Decades ago we had a Seal Point Siamese, Sam-the-Panther (Samantha) grew up with our children (and was a wonderful companion to them). She loved to perch on my husband’s shoulder at meal times, and if she fancied the morsel on his fork, out would whip the grappling hooks and she would snag herself a treat. On several occasions the choice of morsel was extraordinary – she had a thing for fresh, steamed asparagus (not the tinned stuff, darling!), but mostly it was the more usual items, as in MEAT. Still remembered by the whole family with great affection, bless her.

I love the scratch post cat but surely, in a house where there is a curtain or a couch or anything made out of fabric, really, an industrious and imaginative cat need never go without. I know this from bitter (nah, who am I kidding, half the time I actively encourage them, the rest of the time I just look on indulgently) experience.
