Apologies, just posted stuff in the wrong Open thread. Deleted off-topic content now. Oops!
Here, have a spoiler-free review of the new Star Wars movie.
The review is spoiler free (in my opinion, I haven’t seen the movie), but do keep your eyes front and centre, as some of the stuff appearing in the side bar (just titles of other posts that are popular or recent) do look spoiler-y to me. Again, haven’t seen the movie, but I’m guessing when it mentions two characters and a big event, that sounds like a spoiler to me.
I should go and walk the dog before it gets too hot but my bed is so comfy. But I know I will regret it later if I don’t. I think I might drive us to the park just for something different.
It’s a long time since I’ve liked a new Star Wars film, but … well, it’s not actually, it’s only been three days. 🙂
We went to see it yesterday. We liked it too. Of course no new film could ever possibly capture the magic of seeing the first film back in ’75, but this film was such a well-realised step forward into that universe again. Well done JJ Abrams and cast and crew old and new.
There was a sign in the London Underground saying that all travellers without tickets would be told the ending.
Apparently I’m not the only one who enjoyed The Husbands Of River Song far more than I feared. (Yes, it’s the Xmas special, but Xmas is rather incidental to the plot, so I’m putting it on this thread rather than the Xmas thread).
Review – Doctor Who: “The Husbands of River Song” was surprisingly wonderful
I enjoyed it too.
There were a number of moments when I worried that they were screwing things up, but the end was just great.

A friends father took the photo, this is a plug to get votes! I have no shame.
Great photo, and nice to see you again, Sam!
