Sir Patrick Moore, EU segregationist, is perturbed about women getting their hooks into public life. Bewailing the domestification of television, he today launched a diatribe reminiscing about the “golden days” when the BBC was an shrine to testosterone, and lamenting the contaminatory intrusion of soap operas and cooking shows in what should be the sacred men’s space of the airwaves.
Worst of all, women apparently speak an inferior language, and he’s miffed.
Asked about female newsreaders, he said: ‘There was one day (in 2005) when BBC News went on strike. ‘Then we had the headlines read by a man, talking the Queen’s English, reading the news impeccably. Oh, for the good old days.’
Bring on apartheid, he warbles halfwittedly:
‘I would like to see two independent wavelengths – one controlled by women, and one for us, controlled by men.’
Sir Patrick Moore is also notable for his fondness for monocles and the xylophone.
I have just one thing to say to this Knight of the Empire:

Oh dearie dearie me. Sir Pat has previously been rather a favourite in the tog household. Shame.
He’s now festering in the prat bucket with Jamie “Working mums to blame for unhealthier meals” Oliver.
Oh, man, now I have to hate Jamie Oliver! (But it’s some consolation that I can now add the phrase “festering in the prat bucket” to my lexicon.)
Hmm… why is “EU segregationist” relevant? More relevant is the fact he’s (I believe) the BBC’s longest-serving presenter, as The Sky At Night has just had it’s 50th anniversary.
That’s not to say I don’t think he’s talking crap, but what the hell do you expect from an 84-year old eccentric who lived with his mother all his life, never married and spent his spare time obsessing about the moon?

I expect basic human decency from everyone. No-one gets a pass for hate speech.
