Weekend dose of art

The lad’s been enjoying a couple of different art media this weekend. He’s continuing his single-minded effort to catalogue the natural world.

  1. I really want to know the story behind the elephant, his water bottle and his gate.
PZ Myers at Pharyngula would probably adore the Lad’s squid, being a cephalopod fan and all.

He went to the zoo very recently. He’s fascinated by what animals eat and drink, and is also getting interested in the differences between captivity and the wild. So: gate (symbol of captivity), and water bottle (showing how the animal drinks).
Note that his earlier ”Tiger” painting also explores the theme of captivity.
