Eccentric Eye on the World: Moustache and Beard Championship

Footage via Reuters, of men competing for the most “extravagant” look (no journalist commentary) at a competition organised by the Eastern Bavarian Beard and Moustache Club.

Jury member Thomas Zauener explained that there were “different categories: natural beards, moustaches and styled beards.”
“Natural beards may not contain any additives and the jury may touch it. For styled beards, only the physical aspect counts: evenness and cleanliness,” Zauner said, adding “the jury may not touch those.”

Some of the styled beards are truly extraordinary. Presumably they don’t always wear their beards like this.
