For those whose eyes were drawn less to the teens on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and more to their mentor as played by Anthony Stewart Head. Head’s a veteran thesp, with a long background in musical theatre, and after having his first big role playing Jesus in Godspell he went on to play Frankenfurter in The Rocky Horror Show in the West End to huge acclaim.
I can’t find any footage of those performances, but luckily he’s still called upon to do the occasional revival, and a few of those have been filmed.
Here he is thrilling some fans at the 2004 Vulkon convention held in Oakland, California, with a rendition of “Sweet Transvestite”. Unfortunately he’s in civvies (but read on!).
And here he is in 2000, for VH1, doing a celebrity karaoke 25th anniversary celebration of the film, performing in costume: “Wise Up, Janet Weiss” (aka “Planet, Schmanet, Janet”). The same show featured Amber Benson (Buffy’s Tara) singing “Toucha-Touch Me”.

Rocky Horror Show VS Priscilla Queen of the Desert – not a big fan of the Drew Carey Show despite my deep affection for Ryan Stiles who plays his sidekick, but this clip is so much fun. Ryan is dressed as Riff Raff.

A different side to ASH: he has a passion for rescuing horses and donkeys, and there is a stuffed donkey named Giles travelling around the world with sympathetic people (much like the legendary garden gnome, or Flat Stanley) to raise money for a charity that rescues maltreated and abandoned donkeys in Israel & Palestine:
Giles the donkey introduces himself here, on the blog of his travels.
I saw Anthony Head in the Rocky Horror Show when I was 17 and he was absolutely awesome.
Winter, I imagine you can hear my seething with envy all the way over the other side of the world.
I liked reading one of the interviews with ASH about it, and how he approached the part, and particularly how he decided on his footwear:
