Friday Hoyden: Joy Nash

Ok, so this was *everywhere* last year. But some of the readers who’ve come aboard since then may not have seen it.

The discussion today about oppressive beauty ideals and the resultant social insecurities that lead to immense profits for the cosmetic surgery industry reminded me of how the same social insecurities also lead to immense profits for the Diet Industrial Complex, and that reminded me of Joy and this shoutout for Body Acceptance and Health At Every Size.

There are also Fat Rant Part II (Confessions of the Compulsive) and Part III (Staircase Wit).

Kate Harding has a lot more on Health At Every Size (along will Fillyjonk and Sweet Machine) at Shapely Prose.
