An article about domestic violence in the Guardian in which it’s OK to read the comments

[Content note for link below: discussion of author and commentors’ experiences of domestic violence and abuse]

I wish more online media premoderated comments like this article by Jill Dawson about how publicising celebrity incidents of family violence helps all of us to better name abuse. Not all the comments are wonderful (there’s a bit too much macho posturing from partners/brothers/fathers about personal retaliation against perpetrators for my taste) but at least the premoderation team has declined to publish the typical rampant victim-blaming.

PSA: If you need help right now because you are experiencing domestic abuse, clicking on this search link should help you find domestic violence services in your area.
