Batten down the hatches, database port ahead

OK, the lovely and talented Mary is helping me port the Hoyden database to a new net home. It will have a new domain name and everything! But I need to close off commenting now in order to make that happen.

You will still be able to read here whille this is all going on. I should have closed comments down an hour or so ago, maybe, so if you’ve left something big this morning why not copy it to a text editor in case it doesn’t make the migration? Any comments from before 12midday AEST today will definitely make the port,

OK everybody, cross your fingers!

[ETA: 14.55 AEST – not as simple to close comments off as I expected. I’m going to put the blog into offline mode in 15 minutes, but in the meantime any comments you do make now will not be ported to the new site]

Just in case anyone is wondering, you are right now reading the new site and any comment you can see here now or make here in future is permanent. (I am fairly certain we got everything, in the end.)
