It’s seasons like this that got our ancestors started with the thunder god worship. Folks in Queensland especially must be feeling pretty numb right now.

I’ve just started a new job – working in Centrelink on a temp contract, staffing the call centre disaster relief payment lines. As I’ve said to co-workers, about now folks in Queensland have to be wondering which weather deity they pissed off, and who or what they need to sacrifice in order to get a break!
Meanwhile, cyclone season proceeds apace (and will continue to do so until about April).
