I once sat and watched a cicada emerging from its shell for what was probably an hour. Seeing its wings come out from under the shell all scrunched up, and seeing them unfurl and eventually straighten out was quite an impressive experience.
This was the first time I’ve ever seen one emerging from its shell. Impressive indeed.
