OK, I’m off (shortly)

I will be getting up very early in the morning to head off for holidays in accommodation with no net access. I Will Not Be Turning The Computer On Before I Go. There is net access at internet cafs and the town library, but I don’t expect that I’ll be logging on every day. I am telling myself that this will be Good For Me.

The cat is eyeing me balefully as I promise faithfully that the house-sitter does indeed know where the cat food is. Skeptical cat is Skeptical.

I’ve scheduled a few posts to go up during the week, but substantive commentary on any current events from me will have to wait until my return around Bastille Day. We have a few offers from nice folks to send us Guest Hoyden posts during the school holidays, thank you kindly, which I too will look forward to reading.

(And Happy Independence Day Holiday for all you ‘murricans.)

  1. Have a wonderful trip!
For our regulars: I’ll still be around this week, but it is school holidays so I expect to be a little less active than usual. If you get a post stuck in the auto-mod or something and I don’t seem to be paying it adequate attention, please feel free to drop me a message.

  2. Have a wonderful trip!

Thanks, I plan to. We should definitely see some dolphins, and I’m hopeful of a few migrating whales.

  3. So, I’m ba-aaa-ack! And I see you’ve all been having lots of fun without me (pout).
Still, we had a lovely relaxing holiday on the North Coast. We did indeed see some whales, along with the dollies, lots of pelicans, petrels and even an albatross or two. Photos will, as usual, appear in the next few days.

  4. Welcome back!
I just can’t stop reading “petrels” as “pretzels”, and thinking “Hm, that’s nice, but why do we want to see photos?”
    Whales. Awesome.

  5. Pretzels – carbs, oil, salt – what’s not to like?
The whales were very awesome – big humpbacks. Bewdiful.
